Advisory Board Committee Meeting

Present: M. Cristofaro, D. Gorman (WYFSB, Director), K. Elbaum, E. McNamara, J. Dunkerly, H. 
McSwain (WYSB Human Services Coordinator), C. Muckle, J. Nazarchyk, L. Sachatello, B. 
Smith, J. Smith, D. Lane, J. Trelli (WYFSB. Program Coordinator)  
Absent: R.Brule (First Selectman), M. Balestracci (Chief of Police), M. Buscetto III (Chairman), 
S. Cash, M. Geer, A.Mullane, G.Ryan, D. Valentine  
1. Meeting was called to order at 5:00 and quorum was established  
2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting: Minutes were approved by E. McNamara 
and seconded by C. Muckle  
3. Correspondence: D. Gorman reported that we sent hundreds of thank you letters from 
the 2021 Holiday Program to donors who donated and adopted families this past holiday 
season.  
4. Director’s Report & Financial Report: D. Gorman welcomed new appointees K. Elbaum 
(Board of Education Liaison), Officer D. Lane (Youth Officer), J. Dunkerly and B. Smith 
(Student Representatives) to the Youth and Family Services Advisory Board. D. Gorman 
also introduced Heidi McSwain (WYFSB Human Services Coordinator) to the board. It 
was reported that the department remains busy and within the annual report, WYFSB 
has engaged with 20,000 residents. The food locker remains busy. Discussion followed  
5. Program Report: J. Trelli informed the board that Fall Afterschool Programs were very 
successful as well as Youth Promise at Great Neck Elementary School with D. Lane. He 
reported a record breaking Holiday Program. Discussion followed.  
6. Student Report: J. Dunkerly reported all juniors are participating in Capstone Projects 
and LTS hours. B. Smith let the board know that there are new clubs that have started at 
the High School, The Women’s Empowerment Club and Diversity Groups. They stated 
SAT’s this year will be digital.  
7. Old Business: There was no old business  
8. New Business: B. Smith informed the board that Board of Education approved a new 
dress code for the High School.  
9. Meeting to adjured was made by J. Trelli and seconded by M. Cristofaro at 5:45
