Advisory Board Meeting

Present: M. Buscetto (Chairman), M. Cristofaro, D. Gorman (Human Services Administrator),

1. Meeting was called to order at 5:00pm and a quorum was established  
 
2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting: Minutes were approved by J. Nazarchyk 
and seconded by M. Cristofaro 
 
 
3. Correspondence: No new correspondence  
 
4. Directors Report & financial Report: D. Gorman welcomed and introduced new 
appointee S. Damon (Park and Rec) to the Youth and Family Services Advisory Board. 
She also informed the board that T. Moore and J. Filapotti are new from the Board of 
Education and Finance. D. Gorman reported that mentah health services have continued 
to be in demand and that Youth and Family Services is bringing on two new contract 
clinicians – one of our clinicians is leaving us after 10 years of service.. She reported that 
Eileen Sullivan is leaving to go to Recreation and Parks. A backpack and school give 
away drive will be happening for two days the week of August 22nd. Youth and Family 
Services did receive the Summer Enrichment Grant that went towards scholarships for 
Camp DASH.  
 
 
5. Program Report: D. Gorman reported that Camp DASH had an incredible summer. Were 
able to provide scholarships to children in need. D. Gorman stated that over 500 children 
attended camp this summer with a staff of 90. Survey’s for camp went out to families on 
the summer camp experience and have been very positive. D. Gorman reported that all of 
leadership team would be returning next summer. 
 
6.  Student Report: J. Dunkerly reported that school begins in 2 weeks and that at the high 
school there would be new administration in both the principal and vice principal 
positions. Mental health is still a concern for students and transition back from hybrid 
and online learning to in person learning.
