The February 23, 2021 Special Meeting of the Education Standing Committee of the RTM was
called to order by Chairperson Danielle Steward-Gelinas at 7:02 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Present: Greg Attanasio (8:00 P.M.), Valerie Metivier, Sally Ritchie, Michael Rocchetti,
Danielle Steward-Gelinas.
Absent: None
Also Attending: Town Clerk David Campo, First Selectman Robert Brule, First
Selectman Robert Brule.
MOTION by Rocchetti, seconded by Ritchie, to move Public Comment to the end of the
meeting.
VOTING IN FAVOR: Unanimous
PUBLIC COMMENT
NONE
AGENDA ITEM 5: Minutes
MOTION by Ritchie, seconded by Rocchetti, to approve the minutes from the December
1, 2020 meeting.
VOTING IN FAVOR: Unanimous
AGENDA ITEM 6: Social Justice (RTC 10-05-20)
PRESENTATION: First Selectman Robert Brule; First Selectman equity coach Elizabeth
McGee, Owner of Leap Consulting.
Robert and Elizabeth spoke about what they have been talking about over the last six
months and what are the opportunities and challenges concerning diversity in Waterford.
A slide presentation along with discussion, questions, and answers followed. Members of
the public participated.
Members agreed to meet again on March 10, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. and discuss possible

recommendations to the RTM in regards to the makeup of a Special Committee of the
RTM and what would be its charge.

MOTION by Rocchetti, seconded by Ritchie, to adjourn at 8:42 P.M.
