Callto Order: ‘Chairwoman Sanders called the Waterford Senior Citizens Commission Regular
Meeting of August 22,, 2023 to order at 4:01p.m.
Establish a Quorum: A quorum was established.
Public Comment: None
Approval of the meeting minutes of June 27, 2023. Chairwoman Sanders asked for additions, deletions
or corrections to the minutes. None noted.
Motion made by Joyce Vlaun, seconded by Anne Darling to accept the meeting minutes as presented.

Committee Reports
a. Budget - Special revenues lines were reviewed. Endowment Fund was discussed.
b. Nominating Committee - No report
c. ‘Transportation Sub-Committee - No report except for the notification that one regular driver
remains out on leave.
d. Planned Giving Sub-Committee - Chairwoman Sanders provided the group with a notecard for the
endowment fund to preview. A discussion on fundraising and giving followed. A sub-committee
meeting is scheduled for September 26, 2023 at 3pm.
Director / Assistant Director Report for July / August 2023
Highlights included information regarding pending ARPA funds, Farmers Market coupons, and the
Senior Resources grant to provide foot care at minimal to no cost to seniors. TVCCA energy assistance
program will begin in September and a graduate MSW student from Boston University will be assigned
to the department for the 2023/2024 school year. Recently filled positions were discussed along with,
a general description of social services’ caseloads. A preview of fall programs in The Loop was
provided.

Motion: Motion made by Anne Darling, seconded by Kathleen McNamara to adjourn the
Regular Meeting of the Waterford Senior Citizens Commission at 4:52p.m. Motion
passed.
