Waterford Senior Citizens Commission Meeting Agenda 
Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 4:00pm  
Waterford Community Center

Present: Joyce Vlaun (Chairperson), Rick Beany, Cathy Gonyo, Dina Lopes, Marilyn Lusher, 
Dan Rissi, Susan Marelli  
Also Present: Dani Gorman (Human Services Administrator), Heidi McSwain (Human Services 
Coordinator), Terry Wheeler (Assistant Director Senior Services), Mindy Stone (Senior Services 
Enrollment Clerk)  
Absent: Anne Darling, Tom Kennedy (Senior Liaison), Richard Muckle (Selectman Liaison)  
I. 
Call to Order: Meeting was called to order at 4:02pm  
 
II. 
Establish a Quorum: Quorum was established  
 
 
III. 
Public Comment: No Public Comment 
 
IV. 
Approval of the minutes of the August 26, 2025 Commission Meeting: Motion made 
by Marilyn Lusher to approve the minutes of the August 26, 2025 Commission 
Meeting, Rick Beany seconded the motion. Motion passed  
 
 
V. 
Correspondence: None  
 
VI. 
Committee Reports:  
a. Budget: Dani Gorman informed the commission that budget guidelines expected 
to come out in coming months.  
b. Nomination Committee: None 
c. Endowment/Planned Giving Sub-Committee: Heidi McSwain updated the 
commission on two endowment requests that were approved.  
d. Transportation: Dani Gorman informed commission of new transportation 
software being looked into. Gorman also let the commission know that the vans 
would be getting equipment replaced.  
e. Policies Ad Hoc Committee: Dani Gorman reported new Transportation 
Guidelines and Policies are being reviewed. Updates will be presented to Policies 
Ad-Hoc Committee and Commission for review upon completion.  
 
VII. 
Director/Assistant Director Report for August 2025: Dani Gorman reported that 
center remains busy with both programs and social services cases.  Gorman informed 
the commission that the Waterford Cares team meets weekly with referrals coming in 

from the town’s emergency services. Gorman also stated that Heidi McSwain and 
Mindy Stone had begun energy assistance appointments and will be heading out to 
senior complexes beginning in October. Terry Wheeler reported that first day of Fall 
Registrations were busy with many classes reaching capacity. Wheeler also informed 
the commission of many of the new programs that will be starting.

Adjournment: Motion made by Marilyn Lusher to adjourn the meeting at 4:35pm, 
Cathy Gonyo seconded the motion. Motion passed.
