Waterford Senior Citizens Commission Meeting Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 4:00pm Waterford Community Center 24 Rope Ferry Road, Waterford CT 06385 Present: Joyce Vlaun (Chairperson), Rick Beaney, Anne Darling, Dina Lopes (phone in), Marilyn Lusher (4:09pm), Dan Rissi, Susan Marelli Also Present: Dani Gorman (Human Services Administrator), Terry Wheeler (Assistant Director Senior Services), Heidi McSwain (Human Services Coordinator) Absent: Cathy Gonyo, Tom Kennedy (Senior Representative), Richard Muckle (Selectman Representative) I. Call to Order: Meeting was called to order at 4:03pm II. Establish a Quorum: Quorum was established III. Public Comment: None IV. Approval of the minutes of the October 28, 2025 Commission meeting: Motion made by Dina Lopes to approve the minutes of the October 28, 2025 Commission Meeting. Anne Darling seconded the motion. Motion passed. V. Correspondence: Commission were informed of the passing of staff member’s sibling. VI. Committee Reports a. Budget: Discussion on final budget preparations. Approval of final budget scheduled for December Commission meeting. b. Nomination Committee: None c. Endowment/Planned Giving Sub-Committee: None d. Transportation Sub-Committee: Dani Gorman informed the commission that new Transportation software was approved by town IT Director and would be put into the IT Budget for FY27. Gorman also stated that a presentation on new transportation software would be presented to the commission in January. Discussion followed e. Policies Ad Hoc Committee: Commission was informed that with new transportation software new transportation procedures would also be revised. Discussion followed. VII. Director/Assistant Director Report for October 2025: Dani Gorman reported that Annual Reports were submitted to the town. Both Energy Assistance and Medicare appointments remained busy. Gorman informed the commission that the Veteran’s Day Veterans Coffee House was the largest attended with over 100 veterans. Gorman stated that the Waterford Food Bank was preparing for holiday meal distribution and that Senior Services would host pop up events at the community center for grandparents. Terry Wheeler informed the commission that programs remained active with many holiday programs happening in December including, free classic movies, Holiday Luncheon and a floral workshop. VIII. New Business: Gorman informed the commission that the First Selectman sent out a notice announcing General Dynamics Electric Boat Purchases Former Sears Portion of the Crystal Mall. IX.
